Ustad Latafat Hussain Khan (1920-1986)
This Year is the 25th death anniversary of Ustad Latafat Hussain khan.He was Of the Agra Gharana and was the youngest son of haji Ustad Altaf hussain khan of khurja.He was initiated into the field by Ustad tasadduq hussain khan,then followed an extensive training under Ustad khadim hussain khan who was his eldest brother.
Later on he moved to Baroda to stay with his uncle Ustad Faiyyaz Khan and received a rigorous training under him.He also took taleems from Ustad vilayat hussain khan.He was honoured By the Sur singar samsad in Bombay and was also recipient of other honourable awards.He came to kolkata and joined the Sangeet Research Academy as a guru and gave taleems to several pupils.He was a regular All India Radio(Calcutta) artist and gave several concerts throughout his musical career.Latafat Hussain Khan died in kolkata on December 11,1986.
